During this year's Art Basel, the gallery owner Rüdiger Schöttle showed a comprehensive overview of the artists and works that determine the tradition, the "today" and "yesterday", of the gallery program for the 55th anniversary of his gallery. He presented positions that deal conceptually, thematically and formally with spatial and temporal dimensions. I talk to Rüdiger Schöttle himself and Christiane Pfau, who has been observing him since the 1990s, about his long gallery years, the discovery of once "young" artists and their development into internationally leading art positions, as well as his impressively unwavering eye. Christiane Pfau has been doing cultural PR for over 30 years. In 2010 she founded the Munich Feuilleton with her husband. In the ludwig space, we are also showing the painter Annabell Häfner, who has been showing the gallery Rüdiger Schöttle in a solo show since May 2023 and has announced that she is the "most exciting emerging artist position in the country".
