Under the motto "Why should we look at the old pictures? What convey, how to tell?" I will have a conversation with Bernhard Maaz about the connection of the pictorial themes to the "issues of our time" and his two-volume work entitled "The paintings of the Munich Pinakotheken". The volumes are a well-founded and light literary journey through European art history. The topicality of the works is always the focus. There have already been book presentations for the Pinakotheks-Verein and the PIN. Friends of the Pinakothek der Moderne e.V.
The "issues of our time" are also the focus in the ludwig space with the group exhibition "Junger Berliner Salon", an "idea workshop" that deals with questions of the perception of our reality, media varieties and change. The central concern of the gallery is again to lead the discourse into society, starting with eight promising and internationally popular artists.
