The conductor Alexander Liebreich speaks about his plans for the Richard-Strauss-Festival 14 days before the opening-concert.

The German conductor, Alexander Liebreich, started already at the age of 17, to conduct the Regensburger Kammerchor in his hometown. He studied Roman languages and musicology, voice and conducting. Soon after graduating, he won Kondraschin Conducting Competition in 1996.

Alexander Liebreich was appointed Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Münchener Kammerorchester (MKO) 2006 to 2016. Alexander Liebreich has been hailed by the press as Munich's most exciting conductor and a pioneer in a new generation of conductors, for whom the borderline between large symphony orchestras and smaller, more flexible ensembles comes just as naturally as their synthesis of artistic mastery and social responsibility.

From 2011, Liebreicht took also on the role of Artistic Director of the Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF) in South Korea, one of the largest and most prominent festivals in Asia. Since 2018 he is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and he was also appointed to be Artistic Director of the Richard-Strauss-Festival.
